It is confirmed that Republic planned to move operations to Iowa, to a plant were the workers were going to be paid almost half what they make in Chicago and almost no benefits. ChiTown news should have a full story up soon. I will post more as I get it.

It's not a rumor. The Republic Windows people HAVE moved to Iowa. While they were making plans to shutter the Illinois plant and and lay off the workers, principals of Republic Window were forming ANOTHER company, Echo Windows LLC. Echo Windows has already purchased the residential window division of another company and it's factory in Iowa! I've got links to the information on my site:
